When I was looking for a quality application for Graphics, I was suggested GIMP. I must say, I have been impressed by the product. It is a good solution to Graphics on Linux.

I've used Gimp before for small projects. It isn't too bad but it is no where near as good as editors like photoshop. Glad to have a decent graphics editor for linux, though.

As Linux is improving several utitilies are getting better with each new developments. So GIMP will also become better with the new releases. At least we now have some solutions for graphics.

GIMP is a little clunky for small quick projects.... ie: crop, resize, save as compressed jpg.

Comment #4 reviewer from Planet Me (Contact Member) -

I'm agreed with the other respondents... GIMP simply doesn't compare to other programs on the market. It's not a bad program but the interface is not as easy to use.

If you just want to crop, resize, select your jpg compression level and save a lot of the "big name" windows programs are MUCH WORSE than GIMP.... those the really old versions of PSP are unbeatable.

Gimp is best software and more important things is that its freeware.,
