David (200.87.240.123) - Hey, i was wondering if i could get some opinions from people that knows about redhat and mandrake, wich one do you think is better? and wich one is more friendly with new to linux people? Comment #1 Bill (152.163.36.188) - I prefer FreeBSD. Linux seems to be confusion, because there are so many flavors. Everyone will probably fight for the flavor their like best and have excellent reasons to chose that flavor. Comment #2 Shawon Haldar from Dhaka, Bangladesh - Mandrake isn't good for a server related Computer. As there are lots of options are not flexible enough which you can find in the Redhat servers. And thats why, from when Redhat stopped developing there free version and started developing the Enterprise version, another Redhat Server Variant Centos is in the market. And also Fedora having the features of Redhat servers with some options disabled. Comment #3 Sams from Linuxworld - I agree with Shawon Halder. I have used both Mandrake and Red Hat. For Desktop though Mandrake suited me better. It is more user friendly, more choices of utilities. The best part is you don't have to be a geek to use Mandrake. Comment #4 reviewer from Planet Me - I am not very familiar with Mandrake. What are some good resources available for learning more about it? Does anyone have some favorites that they can link to? Comment #5 Sams from Linuxworld - You can easily link up to Mandrake which is now known as Mandriva. Go to your search engine and type Mandriva. There you have lot of resources including the Mandriva package for download.
